Vacay time without worries

Skipping winter for a moment, it's time to enjoy sun, sea, beach, and good food.

But for many people, vacation is also a time of anxiety. Fear of gaining weight.

A few years ago, I didn't have the best relationship with food. Shortly before going on a trip, I would starve myself to "limit the damage," and I would leave for vacation with stress and a disrupted digestion.

What have I learned since then?

  • That it was the stress around food that made me want to eat even more.

  • That my body deserves this extra rest, and it is a moment to recover 100%.

  • That the black-and-white mindset is not necessary.

  • That the achieved results didn't come easily, so they won't disappear easily either.

  • That in 10 years, I won't remember how many calories I ate, but I will cherish the fun memories.

Some tips that can help you enjoy your vacation without worries:

  • Listen to your body: Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're satisfied.

  • Eat a variety: Ensure that you consume a variety of foods every day, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.

  • Hydrate: Maintain your body's hydration by drinking enough water (or calorie-free beverages).

  • Stay active: Go out, have adventures, plan fun activities, explore the city, embrace nature, and go for beautiful hikes and walks.

  • Sleep: Ensure an adequate night's rest, use this time to let your body and mind recover from the busy work life.

  • Share some dishes with others. This way, you can taste different dishes without overeating.

  • Order a salad or a vegetable side dish. This way, you get more vegetables.

  • Eat your fruit. Fruit is not only delicious, they are low in calories, full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and they are juicy and refreshing. (Preferably choose pieces of fruit more often than smoothies)

  • Let go and don't be too hard on yourself. It's okay to enjoy what's not so healthy; you're on vacation.

Hopefully, this helps, and you can enjoy your upcoming vacation!

Love,
Tara
